The EUSR CAT1 CAT and Genny course, has been developed for anyone involved in excavation activities which involve working near underground utilities such as: Excavator operators, Supervisors, Managers, Utility surveyors and site engineers
This course consists of both a theory class room session and then a practical on-site session which involves the use of the CAT and Genny to trace and identify buried services. The assessment is then completed with a question paper
The course provides information on the theory behind how CAT and Genny works, including electromagnetic theory, the benefits and limitations of the equipment.
Delegates will learn how to use the CAT and Genny in the different modes (passive and active), interpret signals, and identify different types of buried services which may be present
The equipment used is either a CAT4+ and Genny or where specificaly requested the RD8000 series equipment can be used
The training emphasises the need for safe working practices (including the consequences of service strikes), the importance of visual site checks, and compliance with relevant health and safety legislation including the guidance HSG47
Benefits of attending the course is the reduction in the likelyhood of service strikes which result in damage and the likelyhood of accidents and subsequent injuries
The course can be delivered either at our Rotherham venue or at a site of your choice
