NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

from £395

The National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is the most widely recognised health and safety qualification in the UK and throughout the world. It is the qualification sort by all those who are looking at forming a career as an H&S professional and is the qualification companies expect people to have as a minimum to enable them to take the role as an H&S advisor or manager

Achievement of the qualification is based on the successful passing of the exam is open book which is held over a 24 hour period and completed through the nebosh portal for the NG1 element of the qualification. Completion of the NG2 element of the qualification involves the completion of a risk assessment using the nebosh format with 10 working days to complete from the exam date

The NG1 exam is based on a scenario provided by nebosh and which most of the questions are based. A mark of 45% is required to successfully passed the exam 

The course is delivered in a 10 day period as two separate block weeks followed by the exam. The course will involve exercises, mock exams with feedback and a session focussed on the NG2 element of the course.

NEBOSH H&S Management in Construction Certificate

The nebosh H&S Managment in Construction Certificate is the most widely recognised health and safety qualification in the UK and throughout the world. It is the qualification sort by all those who are looking at forming a career as an H&S professional within the construction industry and is the qualification companies expect people to have as a minimum to enable them to take the role as an H&S advisor or manager

Achievement of the qualification is based on the successful passing of the exam is open book which is held over a 48 hour period and completed through the nebosh portal. This consist of one exam consisting of a set of questions based on a scinerio and a risk assessment at the end of the paper

 A mark of 45% is required to successfully passed the exam

NEBOSH ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

The NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate is a globally relevant qualification. You will be able to help your organisation manage its  environmental aspects and imacts, carryout environmental risks assessments and help develop, implement and maintain the EMS through continuous improvement

The NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate is an ideal choice for anyone who is or would like to have environmental management responsabilities

The environmental qualification will help you to:

  • Identify aspects and impacts relevant to the organisation
  • Implement environmental management in the workplace
  • Recognise which workplace activities may be subject to environmental legislation or enforcement

Course details

This qualification will help you to understand how to manage environmental issues, this knowledge can be applied in workplaces both in the UK and anywhere in the world.

On completion of the qualification, you will be able to:

  • Understand a range of environmental issues so that you can improve environmental performance and reduce harm to the environment
  • Understand an environmental management system and contribute to continual improvement
  • Recognise environmental aspects and impacts, and be able to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls through risk assessment

  • Understand the links between your organisation’s activities and  environmental issues.

The NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate has been accredited and credit rated by Qualifications Scotland Accreditation. It sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 6 with 6 SCQF credit points.

SCQF Level 6 is comparable to RQF/CQFW Level 3 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland

EMC1 – This is a digital assessment which can be taken remotely. Learners will have 24 hours to access, complete and submit their paper, starting from 11am (UK time) on the examination date. Examinations for this qualification will take place once a quarter and the following dates are confirmed:

EMC2 exam – you have 10 working days from the date of the ECM1 exam to submitt to nebosh

Assessment format

The qualification is broken down into two units, which are assessed in the following ways:

Unit EMC1

Environmental management

Examination (to be downloaded, completed, and submitted in 24 hours)

Learners will be required to review a real-life scenario and answer theoretical and practical questions on environmental management.

Unit EMC2

Assessing environmental aspects and associated impacts

Practical Assessment

Learners will be required to assess environmental aspects and impacts in their chosen workplace.

NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety

The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety is a globally relevant fire safety qualification that you can complete in just one week as a class delivered course. As distance learning this can be completed at your own pace to fit in with work committments. there is also the option of a part time course which consists of self study and class sessions which are held either in a class or over zoom outside work hours

Through its focused syllabus you can learn and develop fire safety skills that can be used in workplaces anywhere in the world.

This qualification can help you protect people, property and ultimately your business from the harm a fire can cause

The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety is ideal for (but not limited to) the following people:

  • Those responsible for fire safety in low to medium risk workplaces i.e. developing and maintaining fire arrangments, completing or being involved in the completion of fire risk assessments and producing fire procedures
  • Health and Safety managers/advisors with fire related responsabilities
  • Fire risk assessors
  • Fire managers/advisors
  • Facilities Managers with fire related responsabilities
  • Health and safety representatives within businesses who are involved with developing, implementing and maintaining fire arrangments

This qualification will help you to:

  • Avoid the consequences of fire such as damage, loss, injury, and enviropnmental damage which can be sometimes catastrophic
  • Understand the prinicpals of fire and explosion causes and protection and prevention principles
  • Carry out an effective fire risk assessment in a low to medium risk workplace.

You will have 24 hours to complete and submit your theory exam paper CFS1 which is open book and based on a scenario – however this can be completed within 4-5 hours.

A practical fire risk assessment CFS2: the fire risk assessment has been developed around fire risk assessment standards such as the Home Office fire guidance and PAS79-1:2020.

The time needed to complete the fire risk assessment is not restricted.  However, it is recommend that you take around three hours to complete all four parts of the assessment. Three hours will allow you to show your understanding of the assessment requirements and complete a good quality fire risk assessment and comply with the nebosh guidance document for this exam

Professional body recognition. Holders of the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety are entitled to associate Membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM)

Accreditation

FSC1 – This is a digital assessment which can be taken remotely. Learners will have 24 hours to access, complete and submit their paper, starting from 11am (UK time) on the examination date.
